Veggie Pizzazz!

The Challenge: Make kids eat more vegetables. The Result: Margherita Pizza for merienda! Yes! It felt like a bonus level in the vegetable eating game where everything was really easy and I got to score 100 nutrient points. Good thing my kids love cheese pizzas so adding fresh tomatoes and basil became welcome toppings.

There was one time when I made them bring the same pizza for school baon, my daughter said that her classmates asked why did her pizza have leaves on it. I thought that she would start disliking the Margherita Pizza already because her friends find it weird. But apparently, she loved it even more. She said that she’s happy to finally found a vegetable that she’s glad to eat.

When her friends came over to the house for a hangout, I tried serving them the same pizza. In a span of minutes, they finished two whole pizzas! I guess when you serve it to them freshly baked, the leaves don’t bother them as much anymore. All that matters is how good it tastes.

Now there’s more reason to plant more basil. 🙂
